Re:
File No.: 1330-03-007
Dear Mr. Auger:
The London Musicians Association, American Federation of Musicians
of the United States and Canada, Local 279 wishes to request
from CAPPRT an adjournment of the hearing of our complaint
until further notice. This request is made with the understanding
that an adjournment is a postponement of the formal proceedings
into the hearing of our complaint and that the London Musicians
Association wishes to retain its right to have the alleged
complaint of failure to bargain in good faith heard at a later
date should that become necessary.
Our request
to the CAPPRT is based on the fact both parties met on Tuesday,
October 21, 2003 to discuss the LMA's initial proposal put
forward on April 30, 2003. Further to that meeting, both parties
are scheduled to meet again on November 11, 2003 at which
time, we understand that Rogers will be tabling a written
response to our proposal. Given this momentum, it is our view
that proceeding to an Oral hearing of our complaint would,
at this time, be counterproductive to bringing the resumption
of our negotiations to a mutually satisfactory conclusion
of a scale agreement.
I would
be pleased to discuss this matter with you at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Jeremy
