Mr Scott
Jackson,
Station Manager, Rogers Cable-London Ontario
800 York Street
London, Ontario 145W 2S9
October 5, 2000
Dear Scott:
Further to our telephone conversation today, I am pleased
to enclose a copy of our agreement with The New PL for your
perusal. It is my hope to convince you that a similar agreement
between our respective organizations can be successfully negotiated
in the not too distant future. As you may be aware, a number
of our members have been approached by Rogers Cable to perform
live or for the purpose of taping for a later broadcast I
hope the agreement enclosed could serve as a template for
a similar agreement with Rogers. Given that CHUM and AFM lawyers
have blessed the enclosed document, I hope that Rogers legal
counsel would be willing to bless a similar agreement between
The London Musicians Association and Rogers Cable in London.
Based
on the success we have had over the last year in working with
the New PL New Day show, I felt the time was right to ask
you to investigate whether our respective organizations could
successfully conclude a Local agreement that would recognize
the principles that CHUM LTD have embraced, namely, that professional
musicians are entitled to a fair wage and a pension contribution
for their services when rendered.
I look forward to your reply.
Yours Sincerely,

Jeremy

invitation to meet for lunch remains open.
